About me

Hi! I’m Tim. I’m 49 and I live in Nottinghamshire in the United Kingdom with my wife, daughter and three cats.

I have a good job, a nice house and a family that I love. I’m happy, comfortable and relatively fit and well. I live a decidedly average existence in a village in the countryside and people would say there is nothing out of the ordinary about me.

But I believe there is uniqueness and things of interest in everyone.

It’s taken a long time to get to this point, and I’ll no doubt describe this journey in this blog.

I’ve wanted to write a book for a few years an this year (2024) I’m going to try and actually get some of my ideas down on paper.

The first step, according to the book my wife got me for Christmas, “Are you actually going to write a book, or just talk about it?” by Brandon Scott, is to get used to writing. So I’m starting this blog to help with that, but also to record some of the thoughts, opinions, observations and ideas I have on my evening walks or sleepless nights.

I don’t imagine I’ll change the world with this blog. I doubt very much that many (any?) people will even read it. Knowing what I’m like, I won’t get around to promoting it or sharing the link to it on social media. So it will, in all likelihood, sit here serving no purpose other than to record the thoughts that I no longer trust to commit to my own gradually fading memory.
